We look forward to tomorrow, Saturday 26th September, when our Rang 5 pupils will receive the blessed Eucharist for the first time. Fr. Doherty PP will celebrate the mass in Irish at 11.00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Maghera.
Parents and siblings of each Rang 5 are welcome to attend the mass.
Everyone is invited to sanitise hands on arrival at the church and before leaving.Fr Doherty has asked that in line with Diocesan Guidance adults wear a face covering whilst inside the church.
A seating plan is attached to assist each family to locate their seat quickly after entering the church. Every other seat must be left vacant. Your child's name will also be on the seat. Please feel free to take the label home after the mass as a little souvenir of the occasion.
For distribution of communion each family will be invited to go forward to Fr Doherty at the altar. All family members present may approach the altar together and then return to their designated seat.
Children will not have readings or prayers to say from the altar on this occasion. There will not be an offertory procession or choir.
Patrick Cassidy will be available to take photographs before and after the mass.
A number of mass booklets will be available for each family to enable . These will be on your child's assigned seat. It would be helpful if these were also removed from the church after mass.
