MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY

30th Apr 2020

May is always a special month in school when we learn about Mary and recite prayers to her. We usually have the May altar outside my office and in our classrooms. Everyday we would bring flowers to decorate the altars and show our love for Mary. We aren’t in school to do these things this year as we are staying at home to keep safe.

However, your teachers have provided some activities in your home learning packs about Mary. I hope you will enjoy completing these and sending pictures to your teacher of your work and May altar if you have been able to make one. I have also attached another couple of activities.

During May we also make a special effort to say the rosary. All of our pupils will be familiar with singing the Our Father as this has been part of the Eucharistic Adoration in school.

Please listen to the Hail Mary sung and join in. You already know the words.

There are many hymns in honour of Mary. Choose one and learn to sing it during this Month.

My favourites are Lady of Knock

and Hail Mary-Gentle Woman
