Another memorable day for Year 7 pupils
We made lots of memories on Thursday 9th June when we travelled to Celtic Park to join thousands of Year 7 pupils from across the Derry Diocese to participate in the Fan the Flame Mass. This year marked the 10th Anniversary of the Fan the Flame mass and it was celebrated by Bishop Mc Keown. Many priests from the Derry Diocese joined him to con-celebrate the mass. This was the first stop on our day trip to Derry city. Following the Fan the Flame mass we travelled to St. Eugene's Cathedral where all pupils and staff passed through the Holy Door which was designated by Bishop Mc Keown during this Year of Mercy. Everyone said the prayers laid out on the special Prayer Cards available at the door. We were joined at the cathedral by Fr P Doherty, Parish Priest who welcomed us there and was delighted that all pupils in the Parish Primary Schools had made the pilgrimage to the Cathedral. There was one final stop before we headed back over the Glenshane Pass.... a quick lunch at a popular fast food outlet which was enjoyed by all. A memorable and very happy day for pupils and staff!
